  • Folk Traditions Workshop: Yuletide Garlandry

Deck the halls with meaning this holiday season!

We all do it to some extent, decorate our homes and businesses with evergreen trees, cedar boughs, pine and fir wreaths, holly and ivy, etc. Of course in December we bring in fresh boughs, and trees for the scent and to get into the holiday mood, but have you ever wondered where those traditions came from? What do they mean in the Victorian language of plants? What other purposes do they all have at that time of year? Join Broomsquire Amy Lou Taylor and learn about these things, and then make your own Door Swag or Wreath. We will use local greenery and beautiful Ontario grown willow to make our own wreaths, or swag for our homes over the holidays!  We promise you, you won’t look at any of your holiday greenery the same way ever again!

Take home a beautiful handmade piece for your holiday celebrations—and a new appreciation for the rich traditions woven into every bough.
