  • Fun With Fermentation Pickling Workshop

    Participants will learn how to make their own probiotic-rich fermented cucumber pickles. Seasoned fermentation hobbyist Marcia Christie will walk participants through the steps to make their own crunchy sour pickled cucumbers, from selecting the best produce, to washing and preparing, packing the jars, and making the brine. The fermenting process, best practices, and time frames will be discussed in detail. All of this will be summed up in a written guide for the participants to take home.

  • Harriet Tubman 175th Anniversary Arrival STC & Commemorative Walk

    This year marks the 175th anniversary of Harriet Tubman’s arrival in St. Catharines.
    Join the St. Catharines Downtown Association on Saturday, July 25 for the official launch of the first self-guided Black History Tour of Downtown St. Catharines, by Rochelle Bush, owner of Tubman Tours Canada.

    Celebrate with live entertainment, local speakers, vendors, family activities, food, and a special commemorative walk retracing the historic Emancipation Day procession Harriet Tubman herself participated in while living in St. Catharines.

  • An Afternoon With Jane Austen

    An Afternoon with Jane Austen: Romance in Upper Canada will take place two Saturdays in July on the 18th and 25th. Music and gossip on the green (front lawn of the Manor) with our wonderful Nelles Manor Players actors and musicians.

    The show starts at 1:00 p.m. Bring your own chairs, blankets and even a picnic.

    Tickets are $10 Adults, $5 Students, and Children 0–13 Free. Tickets are available at the museum, the door and at www.nellesmanor.ca
