Winter Sowing: Native Seeds Workshop
Monday 10 February 2025, 07:00pm - 08:00pm
Hits : 68

Native plants support local ecosystems by providing food and habitat for native wildlife, including pollinators like bees and butterflies. By Winter sowing native seeds in containers we mimic Mother Nature and keep the seeds protected from extreme weather and hungry critters.

Join us for this informative workshop with Loretta Shields to learn more about winter sowing, and create your own mini-nursery of native plants to take home. Loretta holds a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, specializing in Plant Protection and she is the President of the Smithville Garden Club.

We ask that all participants come prepared to get their hands dirty and that you to bring your own container. Check your recycle bin and grab a plastic clear/translucent container to make your mini cold-frame. All other materials including native seeds will be provided.

Location Grimsby Public Library, 18 Carnegie Ln, Grimsby
