Adrian Petry, public historian and Visitor Services Coordinator at the St. Catharines Museum, explores the many difficulties experienced in building the First Welland Canal and its first full season of operation in 1830.

Step into the spacious Walker Room gallery, beautifully adorned with Christmas trees decorated with handmade ornaments and products, all available for purchase. Browse an extensive assortment of items, including personal care products, woodwork, jewelry, pottery, glass art, candles, birdhouses, textiles, and much more.
Proceeds from the Holiday Market support programs for children and seniors. Additionally, we welcome donations of non-perishable food items to benefit the Newark Neighbours Food Bank.

Christmas @ The Homestead: Merry Makers
Bring along the kids and join us on Saturday, December 7 for a festive morning or afternoon of traditional holiday crafts and hot chocolate.
With the house decorated for the holidays, visitors will discover a different craft to make their own in each room, and learn how Christmas was celebrated by the families who lived here over 220+ years.

Port Dalhousie BWC Candlelight Stroll
Join the Port Dalhousie Beautification & Works Committee for their annual Candlelight Stroll through historic Port Dalhousie. See our performers on the porches of our lovely, decorated homes as you stroll with your candles along our community streets. Santa will be there! Candles and hot chocolate are available for purchase, and Food4Kids will be collecting volunteer donations of $ and non-perishable food. Free public parking at Lakeside Park Beach municipal lot.
