  • Grimsby Museum Graveyard Tours

    With gravestones dating back to 1800, St. Andrew’s graveyard has many stories to tell! Join the Grimsby Museum on a lantern tour and hear about Grimsby’s past residents. Learn about gravestone symbolism and other fascinating facts along the way.

    Two tour dates: October 1st and October 15th 

    Tours start at 6 pm and end about 7 pm *Please arrive at 5:45 pm to sign in.

    Online pre-registration is required. Limited space. Groups are kept small to ensure a quality experience. 

    $14.48 (total) per ticket. Recommended for ages 12+ (with an accompanying adult)

    *Ticket sales in support of Grimsby Museum educational community programming and artifact collection care.

    This is not a ghost tour and does not feature costumed actors. Tour information is collected from various historical records. Tours are always presented in a respectful manner.

  • Museum Speaker Series: Log Houses of Old Ontario

    Join us for the next talk in our Museum Speaker Series, featuring architectural historian George Duncan, author of "A Good and Sufficient Dwelling House – Log Houses of Old Ontario".

    Duncan will share insights into the history, architecture and cultural significance of log houses across the province, exploring how these structures helped shape early communities and continue to tell important stories of Ontario’s past.

  • HSGN Barktoberfest

    Our 2025 Barktoberfest walkathon fundraising event will take place on October 4, at Burgoyne Woods, St. Catharines. This annual event is an important fundraising effort for the Humane Society of Greater Niagara. A walkathon fundraiser with a variety of dog-friendly activities, raffle, 50/50, food and fun! Bring your dog or meet our adoptable dogs!

  • Tales & Trails: Autumn Playday at the Homestead

    Families are invited to The Brown Homestead for outdoor autumn fun happening all day on Saturday, October 4. Youngsters can join a Storytime Circle at 10 a.m. led by St. Catharines Public Library, followed by nature-inspired arts, crafts and discovery. Families can drop-in anytime until 3 p.m. to take part in a craft with the Garden City Gardeners, help us harvest from our community-based garden, learn how to break and hackle the flax grown on our site with Historian Dr. Ali Macdonald, and explore our pastoral historic site with self-guided scavenger hunts and other activities.
